  • Bear Warning - Bear in Area

    Effective:  July 30, 2021

      A female black bear has been spotted in the area with cub.  Please take extra precautions when visiting or camping the park. 

      - carry bear spray when hiking and make noise on trails

      - put all garbage inside the bear proof garbage cans and ensure lid is closed

      - keep a clean campsite at all times, with any scented items (food, personal hygiene products) inside a hard sided vehicle or trailer

      - never come between a mother bear and her cubs - always give them lots of space

      - keep pets on leash at ALL times



    Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered anywhere in the Central Region at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

    • Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
    • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
    • Keep your pet on a leash.
    • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible, and know how to use bear spray.

  • Fall 2021

    Effective:  July 1, 2021

      • Camping is now CLOSED.
      • Boat Launch access to the river will remain open.  Day use area including walking trails remain open.
      • Potable water is NOT available.
      • Please come prepared - bring water, toilet paper, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes to help protect yourself from contracting COVID-19.
