  • Partial Closure - Winter 2021 - limited access

    Effective:  April 6, 2021


      • Campground is closed for winter.
      • Camping will re-open on May 20th with campsites being first-come, first-served at $29 per evening.
      • Boat Launch access to the river will remain open as weather and road conditions permits.  Road is not maintained in the winter.
      • Trails remain open but are not maintained.
      • NO potable water will be available.
      • The only vault toilet open in the park is located in the Day Use parking lot.  Use at your own risk.
      • Please come prepared - bring water, toilet paper, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes to help protect yourself from contracting COVID-19.

  • Bear Warning - Bear in Area

    Effective:  April 6, 2021

      Evidence of a black bear has been spotted in the area.  Cubs may be present as well.  Please take extra precautions when visiting the park. 

      - carry bear spray when hiking and make noise on trails

      - put all garbage inside the bear proof garbage cans and ensure lid is closed

      - keep a clean campsite at all times

      - never come between a mother bear and her cubs - always give them lots of space



    Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered anywhere in the Central Region at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

    • Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
    • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
    • Keep your pet on a leash.
    • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible, and know how to use bear spray.
