Join a park interpreter for the ultimate winter experience at Dinosaur Provincial Park. We have combined the best of both worlds: an outdoor hike in the natural preserve, and an indoor tour which takes you behind the scenes of the palaeontology field station. Discover fossils, view wildlife and enjoy the great outdoors!

    Join a park interpreter for this 4 hour exclusive winter experience. An outdoor hike in the natural preserve is combined with an indoor fossil program. Enjoy nature in the badlands, experience the unique geology of this special landscape, and come in to the Park Visitor Centre for a behind the scenes look in the palaeontology field station. 

    • Come prepared with water, a snack, winter hiking boots, and clothing appropriate for the weather.
    • This program is rated as "moderately difficult". 
    • This program is available for those 7 years and older.  
    • Meet up with guide at the Dinosaur Provincial Park Visitor Centre, located 48 km NE of Brooks.
    • Pick up your tickets at the Information Desk in the Visitor Centre about 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
    • All programs leave on time. Late arrivals will not be refunded.
    • Parking is at the concession parking lot, just down from the Visitor Centre (2 minute walk).
    • No smoking is allowed on programs.
    • No dogs or other pets allowed on programs.
    • Limited availability: 15 people.
