Fossil Prospecting - 1 Day

Experience the thrill of discovery! Join a small group of adventurers on a one-day guided prospecting program at Dinosaur Provincial Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its unparalleled concentration of dinosaur fossils.

Explore the badlands like a Palaeontologist. Every year, new and scientifically significant fossils erode out of the rocks of Dinosaur Provincial Park’s Palaeontological Preserve. Finding and documenting them in situ is vital to the science of palaeontology.

Work alongside a seasoned palaeontological technician to navigate the badlands. Identify fossils, assess their condition, discuss their potential scientific value, and document their locations.

This is your chance to:

  • Contribute to Palaeontology and fossil conservation efforts.
  • See firsthand the wealth and diversity of the southern Alberta cretaceous fossil record.
  • Experience the wonder and challenge of working in this unique and breathtaking landscape.
