Spring Creek Cross-Country Ski Trail System

Day Use is permitted. Outhouse facilities are open where feasible - be prepared with your own hand sanitizer and toilet paper. Campgrounds open, starting June 1 at 50% capacity. Second RV units will not be permitted on campsites. We are monitoring our actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and will adjust as needed.

    This system of trails offers excellent variety for the novice skier. There are warm-up shelters at Willow Creek group use area and at the trailhead. The trail system is accessible via Murray Hill Road (1 km west of Hwy. 41 about 7 km south of Elkwater Lake.

The Spring Creek Trails were groomed and trackset. There is good coverage throughout with the exception of a few thin spots. Natural hazards exist. Please use caution.

The Murray Hill Road and the Ferguson Hill Road were both packed and groomed March 17, 2020. Conditions are very good and there is excellent coverage throughout. The windblown area on the Ferguson Hill Road between the trailhead in the Elkwater townsite and Ferguson Hill Campground only has a thin layer of snow over ice. Caution is advised.

Ridgetop Trail was packed and groomed March 17, 2020. Conditions are very good with excellent coverage. Please be aware of natural hazards.

Horseshoe Canyon Trail was groomed for snowshoeing and hiking. Coverage is good with the exception of exposed and windblown sections of the trail that have thin and bare sections.

Be aware that natural hazards exist on all trails. Please use caution.
