Note Permitted activities may vary within a park. Please confirm details with park staff.

  • Access: In winter, Beaver Mines Lake Provincial Recreation Areas is open for non-motorized day use but closed to motor vehicle access beyond the park entrance. For access to Beaver Mines Lake, please park in the first parking area immediately adjacent to the lake (outside the Recreation Area boundary). No winter maintenance is performed. Road conditions to the park are unpredictable. 
  • Ice Safety: Check Canadian Red Cross & My Wild Alberta for safety tips.
  • Horseback riding: Informal equestrian trails exist in the vicinity.
  • Power boating: Power vessels are subject to a 12 km/hr speed limit. Boats are prohibited in posted areas.
  • OHV riding: Limited OHV Use is permitted within the forest and scenic loops
  • Operation of OHVs is restricted to campers registered in this campground only.
  • OHVs must meet all requirements of provincial legislation.
  • Operation of OHVs is restricted to travel between the closest park entrance and your registered campsite. No other OHV use within the park is permitted.
  • Operation of OHVs is restricted to the edge of gravel road surfaces only.
  • Maximum speed limit is 20 km/hr.
  • OHVs must yield the right-of-way to all other vehicles and pedestrians.
