    How is nature more than the scenery that surrounds us? Join us on this hike to discover some of the edible, medicinal, and practical uses of the beautiful boreal forest. In an interactive way, you will learn how nature has nurtured humans as you become acquainted with the surrounding flora. You will get to experience nature's intrinsic worth through short activities and the opportunity to create a piece of artwork if you so choose. Please bring sunscreen, water and bug spray (or wear long pants if the bugs are really bad!)

    Come discover the wonders of this unique provincial park at our evening campfire program! Check out activities that unearth the secrets of the sand dunes and the mysterious animals of the Boreal Forest. Do you have what it takes to pass the bird migration obstacle course to learn about the Bird Observatory? Or perhaps try your hand at making your very own Park Viewer! Campfire songs and bannock making will be the cherry on top! See you there at 7:30pm!

    Get ready to see the Park in a whole new way! Join us on a nature walk that explores 3 different ecosystems. Along the way you’ll have the chance not only to share your own views and interests in the Park, but to learn how Mother Nature and Alberta Parks have shaped this gem in the Boreal Forest. There will be interactive activities and opportunities for photography along the way. At the last stop, you’ll have the chance to create some unique artwork if you choose. Please bring your bug spray, camera and sketch/note pads (if you have them).

    Griz is in search of the fabled land her mother told her about when she was a cub, a land where bears can live free and food practically walks into their mouths. Will she find it?

    • Family-friendly musical theatre production.
    • Audience volunteers needed - you can be a star in the show! See the Alberta Parks interpreter at the beginning of the show if you wish to play a role.
