  • Long Lake Day Use Area Boat Launch

      September 28, 2020

      Long Lake Day Use Area Boat Launch will be CLOSED from Monday, September 28 - Friday, October 2, 2020.

      • Please use boat launch in Campground Area between campsite loops D/E.
      • Repairs/maintenance of Day Use Boat Launch may be delayed if windy/rainy weather occurs.

  • Fall Camping @ Long Lake PP

      September 7, 2020

      Long Lake Provincial Park campground (Loops A, C, D, E & F) will remain open until October 13, 2020.

      • Camping at Long Lake Provincial Park will be by reservation only from Sept. 7th – Oct. 13th.  Self Registration will not be available on site.
      • Please be advised water-shut off commences September 14th.
      • A tap for non-potable water will still available at the dumping station.
      • Campers will need to bring their own drinking water.

  • Blue-Green Algae - Long Lake Provincial Park

      August 6, 2020

      • A blue-green algae bloom has been issued for Long Lake.  
      • General precautions
        • Avoid all contact with blue green algae blooms.  If contact occurs, wash with tap water ASAP.
        • Do not swim or wade in any areas where blue-green algae is visable.  
        • Do not allow your pets to swim or wade in these areas or to eat fish or fish trimmings from the lake.
        • Consider limiting human consumption of fish from the lake.
      • For detailed information, go to Alberta Health Services Blue Green Algae Health Advisories.  Please refer to the specific advisory for this lake.
      • Blue-green algae bloom advisories are issued and rescinded by Alberta Health Services.  Typically, advisories are lifted in late autumn, when water temperatures are so cool that blue green algae growth is no longer supported.
