Natural Region Description

This natural area protects a variety of riparian habitats on the islands and peninsulas of Upper Mann Lake. It contains: moderately to stongly rolling till substrate; cobble and sand beaches; aquatic vegetation; emergent vegetation such as cattail and bulrush; willow shrublands in low-lying areas and along lakeshore; mixedwood forest of aspen, balsam poplar, birch and white spruce; aspen stands with diverse shrubs; mixed shrublands; reed grass meadows; and an unusual abundance of mature birch.
