Where: Lakeland Provincial Recreation Area , Seibert Lake Campground

Only non-potable water is only available on site through the hand pump. Visitors arriving July 10 and onwards are advised to arrive with sufficient water for the duration of their stay. This advisory will be removed once the system is running with potable water.

Non-potable water is not safe for consumption, it should only be used to put out fires. If the non-potable water must be used, it can be boiled for a minimum one minute before being consuming, washing, or using.

Heavy rainfall in the area has created poor road conditions. If you plan to access the campground, 4x4 vehicle is recommended. The roadway and campground areas may have ruts and trenches from flowing water. Caution is advised.

Goat Grazing - An Innovative Alternative for Weed Control

*PLEASE BE RESPECTUL OF THE ANIMALS*

These goats have been brought to this region to help control weeds along the shoreline of Seibert Lake. Invasive weeds are of concern as they can outcompete native vegetation and reduce the biodiversity of an ecosystem. As such, these goats can help in multiple ways!

About Goat Grazing:

• Avoids use of herbicides and associated contamination
• Safe in sensitive areas
• Increases soil productivity
• Can manage weeds in areas that are difficult to access, and in challenging conditions
• Weed seeds are destroyed by the acidic stomachs of the goats, reducing spread further

Users are advised to use the south boat launch pad (left side when looking at the lake), as the north boat launch pads have an elevated pad on that section which could cause damage.

There will be no dock installed this year at the Seibert Lake Campground Boat Launch.
