Teacher-led Small Crawling & Flying Things

A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley.

These teacher resources will assist you in designing an outdoor experience for young students as they discover the world of small crawling and flying things.

The Bugology resource in the list below consists of three components

  • Multidisciplinary preparatory activities to be completed at school
  • Half-day field study that takes students through experiential activities focused on invertebrates and interdependencies within forests
  • Post-visit activities, to be done at school, intended to reflect on and apply what students have learned.
  • If you'd like suggestions on programming or using this material, please contact the Environmental Education office at 403-679-3517 or Kananaskis.Education@gov.ab.ca.

The other teaching resources noted below are field identification guides to assist with the study.
