Windy Point Trail

The trail starts at the south end of the parking lot and follows the wide trail into the trees. After dipping down to Pigeon Creek, you cross to an obvious road on the opposite side. At the next junction, head right and work towards West Wind Creek. The trail parallels this creek for a couple of kilometres before making a turn to the right which is followed by a section with significant elevation gain. Make your way to the northeast facing end of Wind Ridge for some great views of the Bow Valley. Note that the route on ridge, “Wind Ridge” is unmaintained.

  1. Bridge out over Wind Creek; stream ford required which may not be possible during high water
  2. Please note that West Wind Valley, including West Wind Ridge is closed annually December 1 to June 15 to protect critical winter range habitat for ungulates. This closure does not directly affect the Windy Point Trail.
