Details:

Please be aware that pathway refurbishment is scheduled to occur at two locations at Fish Creek
Provincial Park. The pathways listed below will be affected, with an overall construction duration
anticipated from mid September to late October 2026 or until further notice.

  • Bow River Pathway
  • Acadia Pathway

Fish Creek Provincial Park will remain open during construction. While work is being completed,
temporary closures can be expected along these segments.


We recognize this may be inconvenient for visitors; however, it is necessary to ensure public safety.
Refer to the Advisory Maps enclosed for construction limits. To facilitate construction activities,
heavy equipment will be working on site.

Where: Bebo Grove Day Use , Fish Creek Provincial Park

Details:

A small segment of pathway will be temporarily closed to accommodate the Bebo Grove Culvert Repair over the month of September. Fish Creek Provincial Park will remain open during construction. While work is being completed, short distance detours can be expected and flagging personnel will be present. We recognize this may be inconvenient for visitors; however, it is necessary to ensure public safety.

Where: Bebo Grove Day Use , Bow Valley Ranch Day Use , Fish Creek Provincial Park , Shannon Terrace Day Use , Sikome Aquatic Facility Day Use

Details:

The Central Corridor Pathway in Fish Creek Provincial Park is the approximately 19 km primary artery of the trail system, running through the heart of the park and connecting day use areas to key points of interest. Refurbishment of this pathway is currently underway and is being delivered under three project phases.

Phase 1 of the project (the eastern segment of the pathway) was completed in 2025 and is open to the public. The Government of Alberta is now proceeding with Phases 2 and 3, which will occur concurrently. Although subject to change, the following schedule is anticipated:

August 2026 – December 2026:

  • Bebo Grove Day Use Area to Bow Valley Ranch Day Use Area (excluding Glennfield Day Use Area and a segment directly west of Votier’s Flats Day Use Area)
  • Bow Bottom Trail SE pedestrian crossing to Sikome Aquatic Facility

2027:

  • Bebo Grove Day Use Area to Shannon Terrace Day Use Area
  • A segment directly west of Votier’s Flats Day Use Area

Fish Creek Provincial Park will remain open during construction. While work is being completed, short-term delays can be expected along these segments of the Central Corridor Pathway. We recognize this may be inconvenient for visitors; however, it is necessary to ensure public safety.

Where: Fish Creek Provincial Park , Votier's Flats Day Use

Details:

Please be advised the construction activities related to the City of Calgary storm water retention pond west of the Votier's Flats Day Use Area will be taking place from now until late fall or until further notice. This includes work on repairing and reinforcing the pond embankment next to the main paved pathway.

For public safety, the work area and access to affected pathways will be restricted while work is underway.

If further information is required please reach out to the City of Calgary via 311.

Effective Date: June 18, 2026 - Until Further Notice

Where: Bow Valley Ranch Day Use , Fish Creek Provincial Park

Details:

The area adjacent to the Bow Valley Ranch parking lot will be undergoing soil enhancements and reclamation with native plantings. Work on nearby utilities may also be required during this time.

Visitors can expect:

  • Trucks delivering sand and equipment distributing materials on site.
  • Increased presence of heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers.
  • Crews working on nearby utility lines.

Directions

Located within Calgary city limits, Fish Creek Provincial Park offers recreational opportunities to every outdoor enthusiast. These include biking, birding, boating, fishing, picknicking, rollerblading, swimming, walking/hiking and wildlife watching.

On site facilities include the Bow Valley Ranch Visitor Information Centre, the Fish Creek Environmental Learning Centre and the Sikome Aquatic Facility. Annie's Café; and the Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant provide both casual and more formal dining opportunities. There are both reservable group day use areas and first-come, first-served day use areas.
