Due to the 2025 G7 Leaders’ Summit in Kananaskis, Highwood Pass will not open until June 21. Big Elbow, Big Elbow Equestrian, Mount Romulus, Mount Romulus Equestrian, Tombstone and Tombstone equestrian campgrounds can only be accessed from the Little Elbow Trailhead along Highway 66 until June 21. Backpackers will not be able to exit their hike through Highwood Pass as it is closed at the route exit point to vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. More info: AlbertaParks.ca/G7.
