A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley. Ice Safety: Alberta Parks does not monitor ice conditions; learn how to assess them for yourself.

Rockies 24 Hour Race

The Rockies 24 is excited to bring twenty four hour racing back to Canmore, Alberta at their world famous Nordic Centre. The course uses many of the classic trails and is appropriate for all levels of ability. 

The 24-hour race categories are:

-Solo Racers
-Teams of 4-5
-Teams of 2
-Or Corporate teams of 6-10

Race course 

The race utilizes the fast and flowy cross country trail system. These are expertly constructed trails consisting of mainly blue level single track.

Course length: 13.4 km : Elevation gain: 386 meters

Timing: Zone4 chip timing

Aid stations: 1 aid station mid way on course stocked with sports drink and energy bars

Weekend Schedule

Friday July 25
12PM - Course will be fully marked
1PM-9PM - Participants arrive on site
4-8PM - Race package pickup (Meeting Room B, CNC Day Lodge)
Saturday July 26
7AM-10AM - Participants arrive on site 
8AM-10AM - Race package pickup
11:00AM - 24hr Racers Meeting 
11:20AM - Volunteer Meeting
12:00 - Race Starts 
Sunday July 27 
12:00PM - Race ends
12:45PM - Kids race
1:15PM - 24 hour race ends

-Olympic, Centennial, Killer Bees, Rundle, Ziggy's, Nector Noodle, The Albertan, Swamp, Meadowview, Sherwood Forest, EKG, FYI, Lillehammer, Get In, Albertville, Banff, Silvertip, Long Road to Ruin, Blue Coal Chutes, Georgetown Climb, Orchid, Canmore Trail).

Parking & Camping
Parking and camping will be available in the designated areas as assigned by registration. The Canmore Nordic Centre will remain open to other users throughout the event. Obey all volunteer to ensure access for emergency vehicles and other park users.

Parking Pass (Event)
Only one vehicle is allowed onsite at any time for solo racers, two person and 4-5 person teams. Corporate teams are allowed 2 vehicles onsite. This includes set-up and tear-down times. A pass system will be implemented at the front gate of the Canmore Nordic Centre to ensure vehicle restrictions are adhered to. This policy allows us to manage parking congestion.
