A Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley.
  • Construction Advisory - Lower Kananaskis River Area

    Effective:  September 20, 2024

      • Effective Date: September 20, 2024, until further notice.
      • Where: Lower Kananaskis River, Canoe Meadows, Widowmaker, and the Kananaskis River trail.
      • Why: Heavy equipment and material will be staged in these areas for the duration of the Lower Kananaskis River and access redevelopment project.

  • Bear Warning - Three Sisters Campground

    Effective:  August 21, 2024

      • Effective Date: August 21, 2024, until further notice
      • Where: Three Sisters Campground
      • Why: A black bear has been observed multiple times in the campground.

    Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered anywhere in the Kananaskis Region at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

    • Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
    • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
    • Keep your pet on a leash.
    • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible, and know how to use bear spray.

  • Bear Warning - Lac des Arcs Campground

    Effective:  August 14, 2024

      • Effective Date: August 14, 2024 until further notice
      • Where: Lac des Arcs Campground
      • Why: Black bears in the area feeding on berries.

    Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered anywhere in the Kananaskis Region at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

    • Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
    • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
    • Keep your pet on a leash.
    • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible, and know how to use bear spray.

      • Why: Numerous bears have been observed in the area.

    Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered anywhere in the Kananaskis Region at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

    • Make plenty of noise and travel in groups.
    • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
    • Keep your pet on a leash.
    • Carry bear spray. Make sure it’s easily accessible, and know how to use bear spray.

      • Why: Numerous black bears have been observed in the area.

    Although an advisory is in place for this area, bears can be encountered anywhere in the Kananaskis Region at any time. To avoid a surprise encounter with a bear:

    • Be aware of your surroundings. Look and listen for bears and their signs.
