  • Closure - Mount Robson Trail Closures

    Effective:  July 2, 2021

      Mount Robson Trail Closures: Hikers traveling the North Boundary Trail to Mount Robson Provincial Park should be aware that some trail closures are in effect due to flooding.  Please check with BC Parks for trail status updates  https://bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/mt_robson/

  • Rock Lake Flooding

    Effective:  June 9, 2021

      • Due to meltwater and rainfall, the Wildhay River levels are rising. 
      • High water can submerge the Rock Lake Road.
      • Conditions are being monitored. 
      • In the event of flooding, Rock Lake Provincial Park is subject to closure.
      • Visitors are advised to travel at their own risk.

  • Construction Advisory - Big Berland Staging Area

    Effective:  May 20, 2021

      • A short section of the road leading to the Big Berland staging area washed out in  2020.
      • Plans have been made to develop a new and improved staging area on higher ground.  Construction begins in the summer of 2021.
      • There is currently a rough trail cut around the flood zone to provide access to the main trail leading to the Willmore Wilderness.
      • Thank you for your patience while we get a new staging area built.

  • Rock Lake Reopened

    Effective:  July 15, 2020

      • Rock Lake Provincial Park access road has reopened.
      • Please be aware that the road narrows to one lane travel in the flood zone.
      • In the event of heavy rainfall, the road may be subject to flooding and the park could be closed again for public safety.
      • Alberta Parks is in the process of conducting an engineering study to determine long-term solutions for repairing the berm and safely diverting water flow.
      • Thank you for your patience and understanding.
