Alberta Parks

Information Officer / Lead Information Officer, Pigeon Lake Provincial Park

Information Officers (IOs) & Lead Information Officers (LIOs) work in the campground permit booths as the first point of contact for visitors at Pigeon Lake Provincial Park. They are responsible for registering campers, providing front-line customer service, daily cash handling, and providing useful and timely information around park activities, rules and regulations, and nearby amenities.

In addition to the IO duties, the Lead Information Officer oversees the staff and day-to-day operations in the campground permit booth. This position focuses on higher level administrative and leadership tasks, such as scheduling, staff training, cash reconciliation, and reporting.

These seasonal roles can be fast-paced and they require critical thinking, adaptability, and strong communication skills. While the bulk of the work is done indoors, there may be some requirement to spend time in the campground interacting with visitors or performing basic maintenance tasks outdoors (such as trash pickup).

If you are interested in gaining customer service, government administration, and cash handing experience in a unique setting, these positions might be a perfect fit.
