Officially named Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Grazing, Wildlife and Provincial Recreation Area, this park supports a variety of outdoor recreation activities, as well as grazing and Indigenous and seasonal hunting.

Time spent exploring and playing in nature isn’t just fun - it’s essential for growing minds and bodies. This program helps students build confidence outdoors at their own pace, while deepening their connection to the natural world and learning how to care for it.

Through immersive experiences and playful learning, students will discover how nature supports health, well-being, and a sense of belonging.

Students will:

  • Practice real-world stewardship through simple, meaningful actions
  • Interact with nature to understand how animals survive and thrive
  • Enjoy unstructured play and nature immersion, encouraging creativity and resilience
  • Share stories and reflections, building empathy and connection through the art of storytelling

This program is perfect for fostering environmental respect, personal growth, and a lifelong love of the outdoors and nature.
