Placement Information

Location: Castle River Bridge Campground (Castle Provincial Park)
Ideal Placement Dates: May 15 - Sep 4

Castle River Bridge Campground is seeking a host or group of hosts (e.g. couple or family) for one of the following options: a single full-season placement, a single partial-season placement, or two partial-season placements. Placement dates are flexible. July and August are the months that most require host support. A partial-season placement requires a minimum commitment of four consecutive weeks.

Site Information

This site is at a remote campground that is out of cell service range. There is approximately 8 km of gravel road to travel to get to the campground.

Responsibilities

In addition to the key responsibilities outlined in the volunteer host description, Hosts at Castle River Bridge have the following site-specific duties:

• Become knowledgeable about nearby campgrounds (Beaves Mines Lake, Castle Falls, Lynx Creek, Designated Camping Areas) to answer general visitor questions on topics such as reservable sites, first-come, first-served camping, and park amenities.
• Assist visitors with accessing comfort camping cabins and answer general questions about comfort camping.
• Opportunity to assist with public interpretive programming with Visitor Engagement staff.

Additional Information

Hosts at this site are required to attend a district training session in early May, either in person or online.
