What can a mountain teach us? What stories are hidden in a wide valley or deep lake? Who relies on the land we see around us? Across Alberta, incredible landforms shape the lives of the plants and animals that call them home!
In this full-day adventure, students hike ~3km off-trail and uphill through Beauvais Lake Provincial Park to explore landscapes as living, changing systems connected to all life around them. Through storytelling, games, and sketching activities, students discover how rocks, water, plants, and animals work together to create healthy ecosystems. During a wetland field study, students investigate lake creatures and explore their fascinating life cycles. This active outdoor experience brings Alberta’s landscapes to life through exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning!
