Living Landscapes

What can a mountain teach us? Look! There’s a small hill, a wide lake, a deep valley, flat prairie, and a towering mountain. Everywhere we go in Alberta there are incredible landforms and landscapes to explore.

In this program, students hike ~2 km along the trails of Beauvais Lake Provincial Park with frequent stops to observe the land and discover how plants and animals survive. Through movement, storytelling, and creative reflection, students learn that everything on Earth — rocks, water, plants, and animals — works together to support life. Paying attention to the land teaches us about the past, the present, and how to care for the future.
