Hinton Nordic Centre Trails Trail

Hinton Nordic Centre also has a telemark hill and a luge track. The various trails are situated in forested, hilly terrain. A highlight is Athabasca Lookout, which provides spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains and Solomon valley. Access for that section of trail begins from the upper parking lot to the right of the yellow gate at the end of the road. Hike uphill from the green gate marked "telemark hill access". (do not walk on the luge track). After approximately 1 kilometre, there is a sign for the lookout access trail that leads to the viewpoint (approximately 20 minutes one-way). For info on ski conditions, contact Hinton Nordic Skiers. There are several trail access points along Athabasca Lookout Nordic Centre Road. There are 3 main parking areas at the beginning, middle and end of the road. (Note: this used to be called the Athabasca Lookout Nordic Centre Trails.)
