Nature & History

William A. Switzer Provincial Park encompasses over 63 square kilometres of foothills.  The park provides magnificent views of the Rocky Mountains.  Forests of pine, spruce, tamarack and aspen surround the park's chain of five lakes.  The relatively undisturbed wildland character of the park enables it to provide a home for many species of wildlife.

Due to the abundance of natural resources and proximity to water, the park landscape has been inhabited and visited by humans for the last 10,000 years.
