Cougar Warning - Cougar Sightings - William A. Switzer PP

March 21, 2017

  • Cougar sightings have increased in Switzer Park during the month of March 2017.  
  • Cougars have been seen at the Hinton Nordic Centre, Kelley’s Bathtub, and Joachim Valley.   
  • Cougars will generally avoid encounters with humans, however we encourage park visitors to take precautions including keeping dogs on a leash at all times. 
  • If you see a cougar, please notify the Conservation Officer on duty at 780-865-6972.

Seasonal Service Change - Water turned off for season

November 10, 2016

  • The water system and dump station at William A. Switzer Provincial Park have been shut down for winter.
  • No services are available in winter; road maintenance is limited.
  • Winter camping is available First Come-First Served in Gregg Lake Campground - Lakeside Loop sites 1-16.
  • Campers should bring their own water and firewood.  
  • Loops A, B, C, D, E, F, G and Lakeside Loop 17-38 in Gregg Lake Campground are CLOSED until May 17, 2017.
