Liquor Ban In Effect: May. 16 - May. 20, 2013
There will be a temporary liquor ban in Wabamun Lake Provincial Park from 12:00 noon on Thursday May 16, 2013 until 6:00 p.m. on Monday May 20, 2013. The ban applies to all campgrounds and group campgrounds within the park. The ban prohibits possession and consumption of liquor.
Birding: power plants in the area provide year-round open water for hooded mergansers, bald eagles and mallards; large variety of migrating, breeding and moulting water birds including gulls, terns, rails, herons, loons, kingfishers and sandpipers; ospreys nest at both Wabamun and nearby Lake Isle; there are nesting colonies of red-necked and western grebes; the area also supports such species as common ravens, gray jays and great gray owls, which are normally found further north and west.
Hiking: boardwalks in day use area.
