Racehorse Campground

Directions to Campground

Camp in the southern Rockies in Racehorse Provincial Recreation Area, 25 km north of Crowsnest on Forestry Trunk Road. Sites are suitable for RVs and tents and are surrounded by open pine forest. Racehorse Creek runs alonside the campground. Go fishing in the creek or hiking on informal trails. Registered campers may off-load and use access roads to travel to nearby OHV trails from their campsites.

  • The restriction prohibits wood, briquette and propane/natural gas fires OUTSIDE designated fire pits and the use of Turkey fryers and Tiki torches

      Camping  Opening dates are subject to weather conditions.

      Camping  All campsites are first come-first served.  Self-registration is in effect with camping fees payment by cash or personal cheque only.

      Firewood  No firewood is available on site.

      Water  You are expected to bring your own water. Government of Alberta regulations require that water from pumps/taps like the one located here NOT be used for drinking, cooking or washing (including brushing teeth and washing dishes). Water from the pump/tap onsite can only be used for purposes like putting out a campfire.
