Winter Safety

NEW THIS WINTER! The first part of our Winter Safety program is a visit to your classroom by our Winter Safety Educator.  The 60-80 minute interactive presentation of Avi-Smart (a program developed by Parks Canada) introduces students to winter safety and avalanche awareness. The in-class presentation prepares students for their field experience in Kananaskis Country.

Booking Information
Note: The fee does not include the cost of bussing or snowshoe rentals. This is a pilot project so students and teachers are expected to participate in evaluating the program. The evaluation may be a follow-up (short) visit from the Winter Safety Educator or a prepared lesson for the participating teacher to deliver. Your contribution to the meaningful evaluation of this program will enable us to improve it in future.
