Notice: Outpost Wetlands Natural Area is located just west of Police Outpost Provincial Park adjacent to the Montana border. The Nature Conservancy of Canada, in cooperation with the Alberta government, provided funding for acquisition of this important natural area. The Conservancy is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to the preservation of ecologically significant areas, unique natural features and places of special beauty.

Recreation Notes
Birding: species include mountain bluebird, common loon, eastern kingbird, American goldfinch and common snipe. The common snipe is a plain bird with a long bill, pointed wings and an orange-coloured tail; it is a wader with long slender legs; it nests on the ground in the marsh and wet meadow areas of Outpost Wetlands.
