Songbird Festival

The 17th Annual Songbird Festival takes place June 2-3 at the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation.  On Saturday/June 2, enjoy an early morning pancake breakfast, BBQ lunch, guided birding hikes, Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory (LSLBO) Banding Lab Tours, special workshops and children's activities.  Events start at 6:30 a.m. and continue until 2:00 p.m.  On Sunday/June 3, there are more LSLBO Banding Lab Tours (8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) plus the 7th Annual LSLBO Bird Fun Trail Run/Walk.  There are 5 km and 10 km distances on the Trans-Canada Trail in Slave Lake.  Registration deadline is 9:30 a.m., with the race starting at 10:00 a.m.  Check with the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation for more info on the Songbird Festival including the LSLBO Bird Fun Trail Run/Walk.
