Kananaskis Trails Committee
The Kananaskis Trails Committee (KTC)
- Is an interdisciplinary committee comprised of regional experts
in the fields of ecology, planning, land-use, recreation, wildlife
management, trail building/maintenance, conservation, GIS and
information
- Provides direction to senior Kananaskis Country management in
the Tourism, Parks and Recreation and Sustainable Resource
Development Ministries pertaining to trails-related
decision-making
- Focuses on enhanced visitor experience and collaboration with
local communities, stakeholders, volunteers and government
officials
There are three government ministries with land administration
responsibilities in Kananaskis Country (Tourism, Parks and

that trails initiatives are managed and prioritized with a high
level of input and support from stakeholders and officials
responsible for lands within the Kananaskis Management Region. The
KTC aims to develop and maintain a sustainable trails network which
inspires people to discover, value, protect and enjoy the natural
world and the benefits it provides.
