West Bragg Creek Trail Report

Print Report

Updated: June 01, 2017

Trails conditions vary between dry, wet and muddy. As wet trails are susceptible to damage from hooves and tires, please avoid these areas to minimize costly damage. For trail comments that are updated regularly on these trails please visit our partner's trail report on the Greater Bragg Creek Trail Association website.

Notes:

  1. The West Bragg Creek Parking Lot is under construction - check the West Bragg Creek Upgrades Advisory for details.
  2. Bears and cougars are active; ensure that you are carrying bear spray, know how to use it, are aware of your surroundings, making noise and observing all Bear Smart safety techniques.
  3. Ticks are out and experts recommend wearing light coloured clothing that covers your skin and conducting daily tick checks of you and your pets. For more information on ticks visit Alberta Health.
  4. Caution is advised as natural hazards may be encountered on trails.
  5. The All Season Trails system was created in partnership with the Government of Alberta and the Greater Bragg Creek Trails Association (GBCTA). Please visit the GBTCA website to learn more.

The 5 km section east of Moose Loop was significantly damaged during the 2013 flood. Alberta Parks is currently constructing a new trail, but at this time it is closed to public access. While travel on the old alignment is possible there is significant damage and route finding skills are required to navigate this section of trail and caution is advised.
