Recreation Notes

Birding: coniferous trees in the area provide habitat for cavity-nesting birds such as tree swallows and common goldeneyes; trees are also inhabited by nesting great blue herons and ospreys; ravens nest on cliffs south of the main dam.

Fishing: two separate water bodies - Brazeau Reservoir and Brazeau Canal.

OHV riding: informal trails in the vicinity; OHV off-loading within campground and travel to trails from campsites prohibited.

Power boating: water levels fluctuate in reservoir and canal; floating debris in the reservoir can be an issue.

Snowmobiling: informal trails in the vicinity; snowmobile off-loading within and travel to trails from group campground permitted.

Wildlife viewing: species in the area include wapiti, moose, mule deer, gray wolves and black bears.
