Notice: The wildfire in the vicinity of the Hamlet of Lodgepole has not affected provincial campground operations in the region. The campgrounds in Brazeau Reservoir Provincial Recreation Area are currently open and fully operational.
Birding: coniferous trees in the area provide habitat for cavity-nesting birds such as tree swallows and common goldeneyes; trees are also inhabited by nesting great blue herons and ospreys; ravens nest on cliffs south of the main dam.
Fishing: two separate water bodies - Brazeau Reservoir and Brazeau Canal.
OHV riding: informal trails in the vicinity; OHV off-loading within campground and travel to trails from campsites prohibited.
Power boating: water levels fluctuate in reservoir and canal; floating debris in the reservoir can be an issue.
Snowmobiling: informal trails in the vicinity; snowmobile off-loading within and travel to trails from group campground permitted.
Wildlife viewing: species in the area include wapiti, moose, mule deer, gray wolves and black bears.
