Major Responsibilities / Research Interests

Lorna is responsible for the overall coordination of the Alberta Conservation Management System (ACIMS).  She also works at the provincial level as a Parks Ecologist. Lorna's responsibilities include

  • Overseeing the ongoing functioning of ACIMS
  • Working with staff and other contributors to ensure the continuing input and refinement of data in ACIMS
  • Ongoing development of the ecological communities element and tracking lists
  • Working on provincial level issues related to protected areas management, native plant diversity, conservation planning and protected areas systems planning
  • Providing input into site management plans or specific management issues
  • Organizing and conducting field studies
