Research & Collection Activities in Alberta's Parks

Alberta's parks provide excellent locations for scientific and research activities given their value as natural laboratories with long-term protection. We encourage research where it can be conducted with minimal risk to the environment and minimal disturbance to visitors.

A research and collection permit must be obtained prior to the start of any research and collection activities that occur on lands managed by Parks Division.
A single permit may be issued to authorize research or collection at more than one location IF conducted by the same individual or research group.
There are no fees associated with applying for or obtaining a research and collection permit.

Submit your permit application at least 30 days in advance of the proposed start date for the research or collection activity.
