Management planning is critical to effective decision-making and addressing land management conflicts in parks. Management plans provide long-term vision and day-to-day guidance for park management.

takes direction from strategic documents such as the Land-use Framework and Plan for Parks
is founded on legislation, classification, regulations and policies associated with a site

Through our management planning process, we invite Albertans to make a connection with the natural environment. Types of Management Plans

Two types of management plans are developed for Alberta's parks:

Regional park plans outline broad objectives and direction for all sites in a specific Land-use Framework region.
Site specific management plans provide more detailed direction for priority sites where required.
