Between February 26 and April 25, 2010 Albertans were invited to share their feedback on a proposed conceptual design for facility development at English Bay Provincial Recreational Area.
The proposed redevelopment includes 185 camping units designed to accommodate large RV units and include power hook-ups. Facility upgrades, such as a boat launch, parking space, registration booth, day-use area, playground, new washrooms and walking trails will accommodate increased recreational demand.
The proposed campground redevelopment follows three years of archaeological mitigation work done at the site, which is telling us a significant story about Alberta's past, dating back several thousand years. Now that the archaeological work has been completed, clearance has been given for the campground redevelopment to proceed.
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the draft concept design. Valuable input was collected during this public consultation process.
All of the information gathered from public feedback has been reviewed. Please take a look at "What We Heard". Based on public feedback, Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation is reviewing the concept design. Once the review is complete, a description of the changes will be posted.
