Everyone Belongs Outside!
Alberta's parks are important to our quality of life and we are committed to making parks more accessible and inclusive so that everyone benefits from outdoor recreation and spending time in nature.
A priority of the Plan for Parks is to implement a province-wide inclusion strategy to enhance visitor experiences. The goal of the strategy is to remove barriers and create opportunities for, and invite full participation of, all Albertans in Alberta's provincial parks.
Our inclusion strategy (currently in final development) will provide information and a workbook for park agencies, partners and stakeholders. The intent is to make Alberta's provincial parks more welcoming and inclusive.
We are undertaking several initiatives to remove barriers, support inclusion and increase capacity. We're also evaluating the success of our existing inclusion and accessibility programs.
