Unprecedented flooding throughout southern Alberta has
impacted roads, bridges, campgrounds, day use and staging areas,
boat launches, trails and other facilities of many provincial
parks. Floods have also affected the habitat of thousands of
birds, animals, fish and many other species.
We know we have a substantial workload ahead of us for
some time to come. Assessing access, stability and damage is
already underway, but determining the full extent of flood's impact
will take time.
We welcome the interest and assistance of Albertans who
are eager to step forward to help us with recovery efforts.
We are currently working with our partners to organize volunteer
opportunities and will post these regularly.

the safety of others. The health and safety of all workers,
including volunteers, during flood recovery is our first
priority. To ensure recovery efforts are done safely and
appropriately, we ask that visitors do not attempt to perform any
work without authorization. Also note that flood recovery
events may have a participation cap to ensure volunteers receive
adequate coordination and support. Please do not attempt to
attend events if you have not pre-registered as non-registered
attendees may be turned away.
